Description
This state-mandated service is necessary for the transfer of data from public schools districts to the state data repository. It allows districts to be compliant with the demands and timelines established by the State Education Department. This service supports districts in the quest to:
- Report data to all levels of the State Data Warehouse that is complete and accurate.
- Assign each student a unique 10-digit NY ID allowing assessment information to be continuously linked when students move within New York State.

New! NYSED announces the Public Release of the 2022-23 English Language Learners Data Report

NYSED announces the Public Release of the 2022-23 English Language Learners Data Report on their public data site: https://data.nysed.gov/
The report displays "BEDS Day" enrollment counts for public and charter school students by various demographics for the 2022-23 school year. Students included in the Home Languages, English Language Learners Breakdown, and the English Language Learners Programs were those students who were identified in SIRS as ELL during the 2022-23 school year.

New! NYSED’s Public release of 2019 Cohort 2023 Total Cohort Graduation Rate

The public release of the 2019 Total Cohort Graduation rate and the 2023 High School Pathways to Graduation Data are available on their public data site. As a reminder, the High School Graduation Rate public data site defaults to August graduation rates, but users can filter to see June graduation rates.
- SIRS 201- Total Cohort Summary and SIRS 203 Total Cohort Career Pathways Summary for school year 2022-23 are the source of this data.

New! 2023-24 Verification of the Identification of Migrant Eligible children

- To ensure Migrant eligible children have been accurately identified and served during the 2023-24 school year, NYSED is requiring each school district verify students coded as Migrant-eligible in its student information management system against an official list of students that have been issued Certificates of Eligibility (COE) for participation in the Migrant Education Program (MEP)
- Staff members from NYSED’s regional Migrant Education program office will be contacting district CIO’s by telephone or email by Friday, March 29, 2024 with specific instructions on how to complete this data reconciliation process.

New! The 2022-23 NYS Report Card Group III Release Thursday February 29th – ESSA Accountability
- The 2022-23 NYS Report Card Group III release on NYSED’s public data site https://data.nysed.gov/ will include ESSA Accountability Data
- Accountability status and data can be found in the School Data / School Report Card section.
- The Accountability section of the report card includes data used to determine a school’s or district’s accountability status/support model under the NYS ESSA Plan
- Reminder- Local Support and Improvement = Good Standing!

New! 2022-23 NYS School Report Card Release- Group II
The 2022-23 NYS Report Card Group II release is available on NYSED’s public data site Public Data Site. Available data in this release includes Staff Qualifications. The Staff Qualifications section of the report card includes Inexperienced Teachers, Inexperienced Principals, and Teachers Teaching Out of Certification.

- The Office of Early Learning (OEL) has released the 2023-2024 PreK Child Counts Reporting Deadline and Guidance on Reporting UPK and SUFDPK Children in SIRS webinar.
- This webinar provides guidance and support on where to submit child counts, when to submit child counts, and how to properly code students being funded by New York State UPK.

New! NYSED Announces the 2022-23 NY State Report Card Group 1 Public Release

- The 2022-23 NYS Report Card Group I data include annual student results on Grades 3-8 ELA & Math, Grade 8 Science, Annual Regents Examinations, total Cohort Regents Examinations, NYSESLAT, NYSAA and the most recent results on the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP). This release notice does not apply to the preliminary accountability information that was shared last week.
- For Grades 3-8 ELA/Math, new assessments measuring new learning standards were introduced in 2022-23, so comparisons in proficiency cannot be made to prior years www.data.nysed.gov
